A Vampire Christmas Dark Dates Short Stories Book 2 eBook Tracey Sinclair Reviews

This was a very light read - there's not much to the mystery of the rogue vampire as it is so soon solved and dealt with, so it's Cassandra's snarky sense of humor and her thoughts on Christmas that really make up the heart of the story. It's a filler piece that comments somewhat on how things ended for Cassandra and her love interests in the first book. Quick, and entertaining this is a fun and thoughtful short story to read around the holidays that makes you appreciate life's blessings.

(a copy was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review)
A Vampire Christmas is next up in the novellas of the Cassandra Bick series. I'm working my way through them as I (impatiently) bide my time for the next release. These novellas are filling my feening need for more and allowing me to get to know the characters on a more personal level without all the Holy Batman! crisis's.

The holidays are not a good time for Cassandra. Having lost all her family and childhood friends, she finds herself always alone. To make up for her pain, Cassandra volunteers at a homeless shelter. There she learns that there is a rogue vampire attacking the homeless. Knowing this has got to stop, she seeks help from Laclos. Of course, we are talking about Laclos here, the vain flirt, but even he agrees it must stop so he gives her a hand.

Just like the last novella, I found A Vampire Christmas to be funny and yet sad. Cassandra has lost a lot in her life and feels the pain of loneliness. I do commend her for helping out at a shelter instead of wallowing in her own world of pain. Laclos, of course, is ever the outrageous flirt...this time covered in glitter! Now that's funny right there! The two together, with her "No stop asking" and him "But you may say yes one day" dialogs, are always good for a laugh. And it being Christmas Laclos offers her up a gift.. Well if you consider a gift of him volunteering to lay under the tree and letting her unwrap him. Oh Laclos, the man just doesn't take no for an answer. They do eventually go after the rogue vampire, which turned out to be a surprise. Eventually Cassandra does decide on what to do for Christmas, that finally tidbit gave me quite the warm fuzzies.

Normally, I am not a fan of Christmas stories. I find them way too sappy, however, this was a Cassandra Bick story and I couldn't pass it up. Glad I didn't because while it didn't have the huge WOW factor all the bigger books in the series have, it still gave me a chuckle. A must read for sure!

I received this book from the JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine.

I don't understand why it's titled as such. There wasn't a v

The story line was different than the title. I had to really work at keeping my mind on reading the book.
I know it's a short story but for Pete's sake, did it have to be short short? Then the story really doesn't make sense and the reader is left saying"what is this? Is this all? I have read short stories in the past but they have had substance. This really fell very short of the mark.
I really enjoy the characters in this book and the writing style of this author. She keeps you interested and entertained the entire time. Dark Dates should be read first, then A Vampire walks into bar, prior. I anxiously await her next installment.
The Cassandra Bick Chronicles are lots of fun. I only read for entertainment purposes, so be prepared for laughs as well as a little suspense in these stories. I recommend you read the full length stories before reading this short for the best experience. Overall I had a great time reading these stories and look forward to more of them!
A short story that is part of a series called Dark Dates, was a quick but good read. would of loved more and the end was a bit abrupt for my liking.
